Bank of Canada Paper Concludes Bitcoin Can Be Counterfeited

My journey losing it all (~11 BTC)

I lost it all (this my old rogerver bcashy troll account btw)
I don’t even know how to start but as of yesterday I’m officially broke, I ruined my life and future.
I’m a 23yrs guy, my journey with Bitcoin started in 2014. I bought it to actually use it not sure if people do that nowadays? but The HODL journey didn’t start until the beginning of 2017 as I notice the $ value in my blockchain wallet steadily increasing didn’t even know how or why it was increasing I thought it was a glitch making me free money for this reason I decided to go ALL IN I dumped my life saving into Bitcoin. price was around 1-2K $ and I was able to get 11 BTC in total. Unfortunately before the Bullrun start I lost around 4 coin due to ICO"s scams and just buying shitcooins in poloniex with zero trading knowledge(had a great time with the trollbox).

After my loss I took my coins out of the exchange and held in a cold wallet, Fast forwards September 2017 the price kept going up I couldn’t even believe it specially after it broke past 10k I was so euphoric matter fact I was chilling in here, in this subreddit celebrating with everyone posting memes etc.. When BTC hit 20k my greedy asss still didnt wanna sell I didn’t have a price target I though it will keep going up forever. It was going so quick I couldn’t even process what was happening I told my siblings I was rich they told me to sell this bubble but I said "HELL NO! I was part of the moonboy gang we don’t sell we HOODL" I was 19 at the time. seeing this type of money was unreal I had more than 6 fucking figures in my wallet. Eventually we topped out at 20k I didn’t sell although the price kept going down and down and Depression started to hit after we dropped below 10k specially when it went down more near the 3k level I started to regret everything kicking my self for not listening to my siblings when they told me sell.

Nonetheless I still had faith in Bitcoin and knew one day we will recover but I needed to accepted the fact that it might take months maybe years to get back to ath. for this reason I disconnected from the crypto community I had to forget about Bitcoin so I shifted my focus somewhere else luckily I stumbled across this popular game called “Fortnite” it took all my time and distraction away from my crypto for a good year or two I barely even noticed the peak of 2019.

Anyways mid-late 2019 I got heavy in the stock market I started to see all these guru make insane amount of money just day trading. I was more of an investor type guy but I consumed so much information about day trading and how the psychological aspect is so important, I guess I mastered a bit of that by holding Bitcoin throughout the bear market. Anyways recently in August during the Bitcoin rally I though I had enough skills and decided it was finally time for me to trade Bitcoin specially because it was tradable 24/7 I wanted to start increasing my money and stop sitting on my coins I've had enough of the bear market I thought it was gonna be another P&D episode specially after I started to get deeper in the Crypto community and understood how price moves. I used to be Bitcoin maximalist but then I started to notice the suspicious activity around bitcoin, I came to realize that bitcoin was not the same as it was before, these toxic unregulated entities have turned bitcoin into a giant ponzi playground with everyone being brainwashed by these crypto twitter advocates who are nothing but CZ binance acting puppets. I know it sound crazy but it’s true, the receipt it out to the public, the price is manipulated by Tetther Mafia and these scam exchange. I don’t believe in conspiracy but neither do I believe in coincidence, I witnessed this fraud my own eyes, Whale-alert notified me every time Tetther printed new money and sent it to exchanges and next thing you the price went up. Ever since they added derivative I assume they manipulate the price in spot to liquidate future traders. This whole rally was propt by Tetther mafia using the overall condition in the market as an excuse to attempt artificial FOMO and bring real liquidity in this fake liquidity pool. As the fraud was getting more obvious I started to despise Bitcoin and traded the ponzi based off emotions I neglected the technicals I didn’t have risk management and eventually got liquidated.

This is my 3yr+ journey went from 11 btc to 0.. I feel horrible, sad, hopeless and disappointed this was my whole networth vanished in 1-2month. I deprived myself from so many things these last few years hoping my investment grows enough to fund my future. My family still think I’m holding Bitcoins I feel so bad I let them down not sure I'll be able to recover from this.
Ps: for those saying Tetther is an old conspiracy trust me this time is different and incomparable to the previous years, the fraud is fully transparent now. Their activity has been very suspicious and concerning lately I’m sensing a major exit-scam. this will impact the whole crypto space because this unbacked counterfeit USD holds most if not all the order book liquidity.

Coinbase for the most part alluded to as a cryptographic money, a virtual money, or possibly an electronic money - is a sort of money that is virtual. It's like an online variation of money. You can utilize it to buy administrations and items, however not many stores acknowledge Bitcoin yet, and a few nations have restricted it completely. How does Binance convey the outcomes? Every Binance it's generally a PC record that is kept in a' computerized wallet' application with a cell phone or maybe PC.
People can convey Binance (or perhaps part of one) in your computerized wallet, and furthermore you can send Binances to others.

In what capacity can individuals get Binances ?
You will discover three essential ways people get Binances.
You can buy Binances utilizing' genuine' money.
You can offer things and let individuals pay out with Binances.
Or on the other hand they could be made utilizing a PC.
Exactly how are new Binances made?
For your Binances telephone framework to work, individuals can make their PC procedure exchanges for everyone.
PC frameworks exist, working out muddled totals. In some cases they're remunerated with a Binances as a result of the proprietor to hold.
A great many people make amazing PCs basically to attempt to get Binances. This' known as mining.
In any case, the totals are beginning to be more and harder to stop such a large number of Binances being created.
In the event that you started mining now, it might be numerous prior years you got one Binances.
You may end up spending more cash on electrical force for your PC or PC than the Binances will be justified, despite all the trouble.
For what reason are Binances valuable?
There are a lot of things other than money, which we consider significant, similar to precious stones and gold. The Aztecs utilized cocoa beans as cash!
Binances are helpful in light of the fact that people are slanted to trade them for real administrations and merchandise, and even cash.
Would it be able to be sound?
Every exchange is recorded openly, so it is difficult to duplicate Binances, make counterfeit ones, or even spend individuals you don't wear.
It's conceivable to lose the Binances wallet of yours or erase the Binances of yours and lose them uncertainly. There additionally have been robberies from locales that permit you to keep your Binances remotely.
Binance is an electronic money that can be utilized and conveyed electronically.

Binance s can't be printed, in addition to their sum is particularly insignificant - just twenty-one mln Binance might be delivered.

Electronic agitators will have the crowd imagine that Binance will topple fiat money. Progressively reasonable people trust Binance is an oversight safe, unknown electronic money that is without seizure. Each is erroneous.
Binance isn't unknown; it's close to home and contains an open, permanent record. It takes into consideration security as simply the standard location is open, however this specific suggests that activity on the location is examinable to prevent criminal behavior.
Precisely for what reason is Binance a Viable Medium of Exchange?
The hidden blockchain mechanical development is made to support the trustworthiness of exchanges and information. The blockchain everlastingly records affirmed exchanges through a method alluded to as mining. Each arrangement is carefully marked and furthermore confirmed through cryptographic procedures that ensure the cash can't be contributed considerably more than one time.
The budgetary interests of the excavator keep away from twofold spending. Diggers wo exclude twofold spent exchanges for the most part in light of the fact that there is a danger that few different excavators will dismiss the square of theirs; consequently, they shed out on conceivable profit. Twofold spending is a criminal offense, and people won't get away from a changeless evidence trail of the endeavored robbery.

30+ Reasons Why Cryptocurrencies Are Worthless

1)It is possible to change the code through a miner vote or a fork and change the total supply or anything. DASH did it : they reduced the total supply from 84M to 18.9M a few years ago. They could also increase it to 999 Trillions if they wanted to so that millions of DASH are mined every week.

2)You can also fork bitcoin anytime , start over from 0 and claim it's the real bitcoin. (BCH , BSV , BTG , LTC , BCD etc)

3)Why would you pay $10,000 for a digital collectible unit called BTC when you can use BCH or TRX or LTC .. you name it. They work just as fine and cost less. There is no rarity like in gold.

4)Think of any amount you hold in ethereum as a gift card to use smart contracts on the ETH blockchain. Ridiculous. You’d rather hold a wal mart gift card or even simply cash.

5)Private keys may be bruteforced as we speak. Quintillions entries a second. When they’ll have enough bitcoins under control , they could move them all at once instantly.(At least 45,000 ETH have been stolen this way for now through ethereum bandit)SHA 256 is too old , bitcoin is 10 years old , it is not secure enough , quantum computing could potentially break it.

6)And that’s if people don’t find a way to create an infinite amount of coins to sell on exchanges.. it happened with monero , stellar , bitcoin , zcash , zcoin , eos , etc..

proofs :

“Bitcoin , Coindesk : “The Latest Bitcoin Bug Was So Bad, Developers Kept Its Full Details a Secret”an attacker could have actually used it to create new Bitcoin — above the 21 million hard-cap of coin creation — thereby inflating the supply and devaluing current bitcoins.”

Stellar : “Stellar Inflation: Glitch Leads to 2.25 Billion Extra XLM Printed”

Monero : “A bug in the Monero (XMR) wallet software that could enable fake deposits to exchanges has been recently brought to public attention through a Medium post”

Zcoin : Forged coins were created, but not exceeding 1% of the circulating supply. We will release further details on exact numbers when Sigma is released.

EOS : “Hackers Forge Billion EOS Coins to Steal Real Crypto From DEX “

Zcash : “Zcash Team Reveals It Fixed a Catastrophic Coin Counterfeiting Bug” etc..

7)Segwit , and especially Lightning network is a very complex technology and it will inevitably have flaws , bugs , it will be exploited and people will lose money. That alone can cause bitcoin to drop very low levels.

8)Then miners may be losing millions so they will stop mining , blocks may be so slow , almost no transaction will come though , and bitcoin may not have enough time to reach the next difficulty adjustement. This is reffered to as a death spiral. Then every crypto even those with no mining involved may crash hard.

9)Many crypto wallets are unsafe and have already caused people to lose all their investment , including the infamous “parity wallet”.

10)It is NOT trustless. you have to trust the wallet you’re using is not just generating an address controlled by the developper , you have to trust the node the wallet connects to is an honest node , you have to trust a Rogue state or organization with enough computing power will not 51% attack the network. etc..

11)Bitcoin is NOT deflationary. Bitcoins are created every blocks (roughly every 10 minutes) and you wil be dead by the time we reach the 21 million current hard cap.

12)Bitcoin price may artificially be inflated by Tether.

13)It’s an energy waste , an environmental catastrophy.

14)The only usecases are money laundering , tax evasion , gambling , buying on the dark net , evading sanctions and speculation.

15)Governments will ban it if it gets too big , and they have a big incentive to do so , not only for the obscure usecases but also because it threatens the stability of sovereign currencies. Trump could kill bitcoin with one tweet , force fiat exchanges to cease activity.

16)Most cryptos are scams , the rest are just crazy speculative casino investments.

17)It is pyramidal : early adopters intend to profit massively while last comers get crushed. That's not how money works. The overwhelming majority of crypto holders are buying it because they think they will be able to sell it to a higher price later. Money is supposed to be rather stable. That's why the best cryptocurrencies are USDT USDC etc..

18)The very few stores accepting bitcoin always have the real price in the local currency , not in bitcoin. And prices like 0.00456329 BTC are ridiculous !

19)About famous brokers listing bitcoin : they have to meet the demand in order to make money , it doesn't mean they approve it , some even short it (see interactive broker's CEO opinion on bitcoin)

20)People say cash is backed by nothing and losing value slowly , and yes it is very flawed , but there is a whole nation behind it , it's accepted everywhere , you can buy more things with it.

21)Everybody in crypto thinks that there will be a new bullrun and that then , they will sell. But because everybody thinks it will happen , it might not happen. The truth is past performance doesn’t indicate future performance and it is absolutely not guaranteed that there will ever be another bullrun. The markets are unpredictable.

22)Also BTC went from about $0.003 to the price it is today , so don’t think it’s cheap now.

23)There is no recourse if you’re scammed/hacked/made a mistake in the address etc. No chargebacks. But it might be possible to do a rollback (blockchain reorganization) to reverse some transactions. BSV did it.

24)In case of a financial crisis , the speculative assets would crash the most and bitcoin is far from being a non speculative safe heaven ; and governments might ban it to prevent fiat inflation to worsen.

25) Having to write down the private key somewhere or memorize it is a security flaw ! It’s insane to think a system like this will gain mass adoption.

26) The argument saying governments can not ban it because it is decentralized (like they banned drugs) doesn’t work for cryptos. First , drugs are much harder to find and much more expensive and unsafe because of the ban , and people are willing to take the risk because they like it. But if crypto is banned , value will drop too much , and if you can’t sell it for fiat without risking jail , goodluck to find a buyer. Fiat exchanges could close. Banks could terminate every crypto related bank account. And maybe then the mining death spiral would happen and kill all cryptos.

27) Crypto doesn’t exist. It’s like buying air. It’s just virtual collectibles generated by a code. Faguzzi, fugazzi, it’s a whazzie, it’s a whoozie.. it’s a.. fairy dust. It doesn’t exist. It’s never landed. It’s no matter, it’s not on the elemental chart. It… it’s not fucking real!

28) Most brilliant guys have come out and said Bitcoin was a scam or worthless. Including Bill Gates , Warren Buffet , The Wolf Of Wall Street…

29) Inflation is necessary for POW , BTC code will have to be changed to bypass the 21M cap or mining will die ! If BTC code is not changed to allow for miners to be paid reasonably , they will cease mining when the bitcoin block reward gets too low.Even monero understood it ,the code will have to be changed to allow for an infinite bitcoin supply (devaluating all current bitcoins) or the hash will decrease and the security of bitcoin will decrease dramatically and be 51% attacked

30) Don’t mix up blockchain and cryptos. Even blockchain is overrated. But when you hear this or that company is going blockchain , it doesn’t mean they support cryptocurrencies.

31) Craig Wright had a bitcoin mining company with Dave Kleinman (he died) and on january 1 2020 he claims he will be able to access the 1.1M BTC/BCH/BTG from the mining trust. He may or may not dump them on the market , he also said BTC had a fatal flaw and that by 2019 there will be no more BTC.

32) Hacks in cryptos are very common and usually massive. Billions of dollars in crypto have been stolen in the last 6 years. In may 2019 Binance was hacked and lost 7,000 BTC (and it’s far from being the biggest crypto hack).

33) Bitcoin was first. It's an ancient technology. Newer blockchains have privacy, smart contracts, distributed apps and more.Bitcoin is our future? Was the Model T the future of the automobile? (John Mc Afee)

34) IOTA investiguating stolen funds on mainnet. IOTA shuts down the whole network to deal with trinity wallet attack.

35) Compared to bitcoin other cryptos work just as fine and don't waste so much energy.

36 ) Everytime miners disagree on the updates it will create another version of bitcoin : problem of governance and legitimacy.

37) Cryptos are only legitimate if they act as a credit for a redeemable asset like USDT or gold backed coins.

While the native language of the writter is not english , I think you get the point and it doesn't make it any less relevant.

However, mining scams are rampant nowadays. Miners are always reminded not to provide private keys, deposits, etc to avoid these frauds.
FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) - this is the greatest risk for investors; A state of mind that often influence when and how crypto-enthusiasts make trades, purchase or hold onto their coins thus affects greatly in the actual prices/convertion rate of cryptocurrency.

Hi Parachuters! As part of 2 of 3 from today's rapid catch up series of pending updates, here’s your week at Parachute + partners (6 Dec - 12 Dec'19):

As mentioned last week, Cap and Ice hosted a townhall to talk about where we are at and where we are heading along with ample feedback and Q&A from the community. We covered a lot of ground: "value hypothesis for ParJar, Product Market fit, and our growth approach for 2020...performance of two key PAR utility metrics, staking and gas, and how we see growth for each in 2020...questions from the community and reviewed upcoming community initiatives". Click here to catch up on all that happened. GET Protocol’s $GET token was added to ParJar this week. Belated Birthday wishes to Doc Vic from Cuba. Jason lost a 5k $PAR wager with Cap on Victor’s age. Haha. Congratulations to Martha for winning this week’s Parena. From next week, "You can now view your first opponent in the 2019/20 FPL Cup on the My Team page - under Leagues". While you slay those miles with the Parachute Running Club (which has done 44 miles so far BTW), here’s a podcast to listen to. Cap’s recommendation: "It's geared towards people building products - but super super useful to think about any products you use. Skip to like 9 minutes in to skip through all the advertiesments ". Yes, I know. Cap wouldn’t be Cap without typos. Typos FTW!

Catch up on the latest aXpire update and 20k AXPR burn here and here respectively. As you would already know, instead of pitting both startups against each other, XIO decided to accept both Opacity and Uptrennd into the incubator program and opened up staking for them. This marks the official launch of the XIO Blockchain Incubator and it’s been a roaring start with USD 7k worth of tokens locked up in one hour and Opacity portal getting oversubscribed in no time. Video instructions for staking can be found here. Read up on the startups here. In three days, the total staking crossed 1M XIO levels. Insane! That is a great metric to measure performance. How does the $XIO token play a role in all this? The crew explained in this tweet thread. And with that a series of related discussions got off starting with the possibility of self-nomination for startups. Have a sub-100 CMC project that you think should be part of the incubator? Don’t forget to tag them. Plus, a cool 25k $XIO giveaway was launched. Remember, meaningful conversation is always welcome at the incubator and more often than not, they get rewarded. Check out the latest update on the Birdchain App SMS feature along with an expanded list of supported countries. Silent Notary reduced the $LAW token requirement for running a Masternode from 100M to 20M this week. Russian research company sudexpa.ru also gave its vote of confidence to Silent Notary in terms of its immutability. Wibson Marketing Manager Fi Scantamburlo attended the Latin American Bitcoin Conference Uruguay to speak on Data privacy, monetisation and how Wibson helps achieve these. Opacity now allows shared file preview for uploaded docs.

Fantom's foray into the Afghan Ministry of Health's efforts to fight counterfeit drugs and other public health initiatives were covered by Forbes this week. Last week, we shared that Sikoba's e-voting platform, Itugen, which is based on Fantom’s Lachesis consensus was released. This week, they published its technical whitepaper. With so many moving parts in the project and so much happening all around, a recap is always a welcome refresher to catch up. $FTM got listed on South Korea’s Coinone with a $KRW pairing. It was also integrated with the IncognitoChain project’s pDEX with a $pUSDT pairing (remember, Harmony was added to the same platform a few days back?). IncognitoChain allows cryptos to be transacted privately using sidechains including those coins/tokens which are not privacy-oriented. Fantom also launched a developer portal and technical documentation ahead of the XAR Network mainnet release. The interoperability bridge is out as well. This allows both ERC20 and BEP2 token holders to move their tokens to the XAR Network. The wallet allows both staking and delegation. For the guide to joining XAR Network as a validator node, click here. A simple guide to staking on XAR Network can be found here. The team also sat down for an AMA with COTI this week. Blockchain Magazine’s interview of Michael was published. Continuing with Uptrennd’s 24 Days of Celebrations started last week, this week they hosted an Escape Room contest and Photo contest. The latest $1UP tokenomics update can be seen here. After 11 months, the platform now has 50k users across 177 countries. Wowza! And wicked stats on the engagement metrics as well. Jeff’s interview with Crypto Beadles came out this week.

Hydro will be hosting a Banking-as-a-Service happy hour next week to talk on how they are building solutions in the BaaS space. For starters, don’t forget to read their article on blockchain applications in finance. The team appeared for an AMA with Apache Traders which also featured a 45k $HYDRO giveaway. Digital payments platform VoPay is now partnered with Hydro for end-to-end payment solutions using Hydrogen API and other Hydro tools. Hydro’s smart contract was audited by Callisto and passed their test with flying colours except for one "low severity" issue. The result: "The contract can be deployed". CTO Tim Allard was interviewed by Ethereum Network Nigeria as part of their Ethereum personality chat series. For the latest update on the community explorer Frost, click here. In Pynk’s first guest blog post, community member (or, Pynkster) Alistaire Wallace talks about what the coming year could hold for Pynk and its community of predictors. Also, did you know that the group Legion of Doom which was once considered to be the most capable hacking group in the world was in a long drawn feud with Masters of Deception in what is now known as the Great Hacker War? Learn more info like this from SelfKey’s latest article on hacking groups. Constellation CEO Ben Jorgensen will be speaking at the Crypto 2020 Summit. If you’re attending, make sure to say Hi. Arena Match announced a trading competition on DDEX with 4M $AMGO tokens to be won. Lucky Bluff Poker will be sponsoring next week’s Arena Match Raffle. The latest Harmony update compilation from the whole team can be found here. In the latest Pangea statistics (Harmony’s experimental staking game to test the limits of its tech), the average staking position is 1.8M $ONE with 75% of participants operate nodes themselves while the rest use delegates. Plus, check out the newest upgrades here. Honest Mining announced mainnet support for the native $ONE token swap. $ONE is also in consideration for listing on Binance US. The token was listed on Pionex this week. The Intellishare website registration and login functions will be down next week for a scheduled upgrade. Also, $INE traders make sure to keep a note of WBFex temporarily disabling the $ETH trading pair. Jobchain’s $JOB token got listed on Bilaxy exchange, P2PB2B exchange, SWFT Blockchain wallet and SWOP.SPACE exchange. The project was also given an A+ score by Xangle. Congrats!

Homeland Security Awarded Funds To Austrian Company Creating Compatibility For Blockchain Efforts The Department of Homeland Security awarded a $143,000 other transaction solicitation Sept. 27 to an Austrian company to create compatibility for the agency’s different data formats and blockchain efforts throughout the department. The money was awarded by the DHS Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T) to Danube Tech GmbH to develop blockchain security technology as the department seeks to combat forgery and counterfeiting. According to the news release, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services all have responsibilities for data that can be secured using blockchain. These agencies are responsible for processes like identity verification, immigration status, employment eligibility and supply chain security. Using blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT), the agencies could issue credentials digitally, which would “enhance security, ensure interoperability, and prevent forgery and counterfeiting,” the release said.
Libra Association Continues Push For European Acceptance Libra Association meant to manage and handle the debut of Facebook’s proposed cryptocurrency Libra has been dealing with some setbacks involving its acceptance, especially from Germany and France, who say they won’t allow the currency to move forward. Reuters is reporting that despite the opposition, the association is still talking to European Union regulators in an attempt to release the currency by 2020. Perez, who worked in a senior-level position at PayPal before joining Libra, is working diligently to overcome the regulatory and oppositional obstacles facing the currency. Depending on how much progress he makes, the cryptocurrency could launch as early as June of 2020. He also said that a delay of a quarter or two wouldn’t be a big problem.
Stablecoin Regulations Would Need To Eliminate Risks Regarding Liquidity Of Underlying Assets, Claims IMF As Central Banks across the world start looking into cryptocurrencies and DLT to see how feasible a fiat-backed digital currency would be, the IMF (International Monetary Fund) has now entered the conversation as well, publishing a blog post exploring the advantages of a privately issued stablecoin, one which is backed by central bank reserves. The biggest problem governments are likely to face with such a plan is their lack of expertise with regards to intuitively designed and efficient platforms. And while Central Banks are not likely to approve a fiat-backed digital currency, an offering like USDC or Facebook’s Libra, could simply be more efficient. The IMF says that regulations will need to eliminate risks regarding liquidity of the underlying assets and that they should be protected from other creditors, if the stablecoin provider goes bankrupt.

If the $8,000 barrier is not held, it is possible to test support around $7,500 below. In terms of operation, the stage bottom still needs time to polish. It is suggested that the storage space should be controlled at about 50%.

What Exactly is NEM and How to Keep XEM Safe? | Best NEM Wallets

NEM (short for New Economy Movement) is a dual layer blockchain platform quite similar to Ethereum's, with the main difference being that the former is written in Java. Launched on March 31, 2015, it has a peer to peer cryptocurrency, having the ticker symbol XEM which is 'harvested' using a Proof-of-Importance (PoI) algorithm. NEM's the first cryptocurrency after Bitcoin to have built its code from scratch. Its mainnet supports multiple ledgers on its cryptocurrency layer. The powerful Smart Assets layer supports mosaics to represent any store of value.
NEM has uses in various fields like:
  1. Financial management - financial payments, equity markets, creating a very own cryptocurrency and many more.
  2. Business management - automatic accounting, KYC, loyalty reward points, shipping, inspection and supply chain management.
  3. Secure records - encrypted messaging, anti-counterfeiting, authentication, etc.
  4. Decentralised organisations - voting security and can be used for crowdfunding, stock ownership and ICOs.
Unlike BTC and many other altcoins, NEM/XEM cannot be mined, well not exactly. The process by which new XEM coins can be obtained is called 'harvesting'. The other way to have XEM coins is via exchanges and there are plenty of them like Binance, Bittrex, CoinSwitch, HitBTC, etc.
When it comes to storing the XEM coins, the wallets that are trustworthy are:
There might be many online wallets and many of them might be safe, but the safest option is always a hardware wallet, no matter what. It's important to remember this because if your coins aren't safe, then there's no point in investing and/or trading, as once your coins are gone, there's no way to retrieve them back. Ever!

Counos DEX From A User's Eye

Counos DEX From A User's Eye

Counos Platform
Trade cleaves the consumer from a wholesale purchase or acquires. It explains what kind of sale it is. Its services and products are assumed to be sold. Not even sold, they are marketed only to white-collar Interior Designers, Decorators, and Architects. But being in a market you are always looking for some specified save trading and marketing because no one wants to lose. How would you do save marketing? Have you heard the term decentralized exchange? Have you heard the term counos? Counos DEX matter? Let’s begin with the counos introduction to meet the need of DEX Counos As A Blockchain Platform: Counos is a blockchain platform, which means there is a system in which documentation of negotiation made in bitcoin or another cryptocurrency is conserved covering some computers that are linked in a peer-to-peer network and that is very much indistinguishable to bitcoin. It allows decentralized transactions between the junctions of the network. Practically everyone in the blockchain space concurs that decentralized exchanges are the ensuing of cryptocurrency trading. That’s because, in today’s industry, the trading digital advantage is neither secure nor uncomplicated.

https://preview.redd.it/qvgribuycl441.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ffb18fd708d764afb0287f9cc08b6cf101011c10

Tradings and Trafficking With Centralized Exchange:

To start trading, you must first buy virtue with fiat currency (USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, etc.) between fiat gateway ministration, which often charges soaring fees and proffer appalling exchange rates. Only a few paramount digital currencies are accessible. Once you’ve made acquire, you no prolonged have control of your own funds— the swap or exchange does.
This system forces centralized exchanges to be accountable for holding and sheltered all users’ funds. As a result, exchanges must control a few centralized wallets that dominance big amounts of wealth. By using this service, everyone alone can have his own exchange network.
A cold wallet that reportedly is the possession of to Binance, for example, holds over 169,000 BTC, more than $1.3 billion worth of Bitcoin at the time of writing. And this is just a solitary cold pochette of one exchange. This engrossment of wealth makes exchanges the consummate quarry for bad actors. Hackers have stolen billions of dollars’ worth of digital forte over the last few years, underscoring a mammoth security hiccup for the entire industry.
The tincture is decentralization. If all trafficking is fully peer-to-peer means only two users are involved, as on a decentralized exchange, then the negotiator will no longer require to clench and control users’ funds. It manufactures the industry far more firm. It also assists acquisition by greatly clarify the trading process.

DEX and Solution for Your Problems:

There is roughly one hundred decentralized exchange concordat in maturing or accessible for live trading. However, there are numerous projects calling themselves a decentralized exchange that is not literally decentralized.
With a decentralized exchange (DEX), your endowments are always in your guardianship, thus abolishing the security proceeding that infestation centralized exchanges. This means your funds are in your manage and endure much safer. Real decentralized exchanges must also be without permission because, if a DEX requires users to acquire sanction, then there must some centralized entity controlling it.
Users never need to down payment or withdraw funds to trade on a true DEX. On top of that, DEXs supply better privacy, transparency, and censorship-resistance, and permit unlimited trading pairs using technologies like atomic reciprocate. With atomic reciprocate technology, traders can make cross-chain exchanges between any two listed forte.

Counos DEX:

A decentralized exchange is a kind of cryptocurrency exchange that drudgery in a decentralized manner, which expresses that there is no central authority elaborated in it. In a decentralized exchange, users will be able to trade cryptocurrencies in a way in which users are just involved.
Now you are thinking what is special about a counos decentralized exchange, or a DEX is that users do not need to convey their virtue to the exchange platform, and thus their virtue is much less endangered and risk Contra theft from the hewing of the exchange platform.
Counos Decentralized exchanges also avert counterfeit or manipulation of prices. Counos DEX has minimum chances of loss because of its user to user interaction manner, no third person is involved so you might feel safe and secure.
Recently, the crypto clique has inclined or disposed toward counos decentralized exchanges, and hence, there are many cryptocurrency decentralized exchanges that are accessible in the crypto market.
Counos Decentralized Exchange (Counos DEX), permits you to acquaintance with a non-identical decentralized exchange in a particular manner where just users are interconnected and safe. Counos DEX utilizes Multisig wallet technology to give high security in the way of exchanging the crypto redeeming feature.
But what makes Counos DEX surely stand out from other decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges is this unique characteristic of Counos DEX in which all exchanges take place on the organizational structures of Counos Escrow. When it comes to upheaval, technology, and security, Counos Escrow is one of the top-class online escrow assistance all over the globe.

On the new batch of comments to the SEC about the SolidX ETF, some honorable mentions, and some negative comments

The SEC just posted a new batch of 286 comments on the SolidX ETF, bringing the total to 1147. I am skimming through them and posted some of the best already to this sub.
The vast majority are short comments, obviously submitted in response to some mail-in campaign. The names sound very much like the invented ones of spam emails that I have been receiving for years. A telling detail is the lack of a middle initial.
They also mostly repeat the same arguments, and many are obviously written by people who don't understand what is the ETF, only that if that SEC thing approves it then the bitcoin price will go to the moon. I have just seen a dozen that start with the same phrase "I hearby[sic] state my acceptance and full support..."
Some are so sloppy that they submit with one name but sign with a different name.
Here are some honorable mentions:
A few negative comments:

Brief English Translation of Interview

WARNING: This is an personal, unofficial translation offered as a rough summary of the video, so please don't take my words as the gospel. I'm not a professional translator, just an emigrated Chinese. Please reserve your judgement until the official translation comes out.
A VERY brief personal translation of the video from Chinese only side, sorry if it's badly translated:
Intro: CEO introduces himself and his connection to South Korea (bachelors and research professor). Now started WTC in China, have 15 years of experience in chip research. He found out bitcoin by chance in 2013 during his stay in SK; one of his mates was mining BTC, which quipped his interest in crypto and the tech and researched further. Later on he participated in an IoT conference and saw the potential of integrating blockchain tech with the physical world use.
Gives an overview of what WTC does; connects RFID to blockchain so that the supply chain system is transparent, can take on larger quantities, faster, giving it better data management and integrity.
Cue the the boxmining video.
Offices: Their main office is in Shen Zhen, with another one in Xia Men and Cheng Zhou. The main office is in charge of the RFID chips, Xia Men does the systems, Cheng Zhou is doing the marketing/promo, because Cheng Zhou area has China's highest number of textile/clothing manufacturing companies. 30 people in main office, 30 in IoT, 10 in other offices.
ICO History: Talks about the stats of the ICO, when it was, how long the duration, how many coins, etc. Talks about their presence in South Korea and the community in South Korea Telegram (60k). Initial SK to Chinese participants for the ICO ratio was very small.
The future: Just finished their testing last month, went excellent. Currently doing the 2nd testnet now (finishes end of Dec). If something goes wrong, going to do a 3rd testnet Q1 next year. If everything is fine, going to skip the 3rd testnet.
Goals in South Korea: Just went to NIDS company and wish to use their technology in Xia Men smart city to monitor environmental changes (particulate matter 2.5, particulate matter 50). Because environmental QA requires data integrity to make sure the data's true, combining NIDS's data collecting tech with WTC's blockchain integrity. Also promoting the RFID chip to SK's clothing industry. Starting at 31:41, he talks about NIDS and integrating their techs together. There were technical and electrical engineering terms in this part that I don't understand, so didn't translate. If anyone knows, would be much appreciated.
Expectations of WTC value: Based on their market, competition, technology and team, etc, he expects them to be a top 10 cryptocurrency.
Interesting note here: The current RFIDs can only read data. WTC have applied for a patent (only applied, not definite) to combine RFID with a memory (memory chip?*), so that it can transmit a TXID. This means when you read the RFID chip, you also read the TXID. Not only can the chip tell you the TXID, but it can store the next/new TXID. Other programs, such as the green frog, is doing similar things, but WTC has the patent to this RFID + memory of TXIDs. The biggest difference between WTC and these other RFIDs, according to him, is that WTC owns (has patent) of the hardware, whereas others only the software.
Goes onto mention that the average investor might not understand the implications of this hardware advantage. In essence, WTC is making a brand new sort of RFID, one that has memory and can output/input TXIDs. With each input of a new TXID into the RFID, the data is stored onto the software, so you can go and pull out the entire TXID/journey of the product as it moves along the supply chain. This hardware tech alone is why WTC should become a top 10 coin, and expects it to be a top 5.
Vision: The vision for WTC is more than tracking supply chains and data integrity. Once the technology and data integrity is proven, they aspire to use the data for analytics/research. WTC's vision is for a fair, safe, and transparent supply chain and market. They talk about a recent news feature on Chinese TV where mobile phones sold in America were China-made counterfeits and no one outside of the counterfeit factory was non-the-wiser. (WTC can counter international counterfeit).
On Nodes, PoW & PoS, and max coin supply: Their RFID is strong enough to mine either Dash(not sure if heard right), or mine WTC. Uses both PoW and PoS. The PoS is there to assist PoW in difficulty of mining. 30mil WTC coins for PoW. 20mil for industry promotion/awareness, 10mil for the team, start to be gradually let out after two years. The last 10mil was initially planned for a 2nd ICO, but that's scrapped. They'll be figuring out how to use this in the future.
On international markets/exchanges: Available in OKEX, HITBTC, Binance, chatting with Houbi, Bittrex, Polonex.
Possible to counterfeit a RFID: As each chip stores TXID, unless you can counterfeit TXIDs onto an RFID, virtually impossible. How it works: A WTC client is given the chips and a reader specifically for that store and that store's location. This reader reads an RFID and inputs the TXID exclusive to that store. So even if you replicate the chip, you still need to replicate the reader so to enter the unique TXID of that part of the supply chain process. The reader's owner owns the private key, so the only person who can counterfeit/manipulate the TXID data would be the client who owns the reader.
Any South Korea partners?: NIDS is the first one, they are assisting in looking for more possible partners with WTC.

If you still don't understand why tether is going to crater cypto

Imagine the New York Stock exchange decided to print counterfeit dollars (electronically) and use them to buy up shares of all the stocks on the exchange. There would be a huge rally, all the stock prices would go through the roof. But if enough shareholders started selling their shares and asking for real dollars back, the exchange would eventually collapse because they wouldn't have enough money to settle all the trades.
With Tether its basically the same situation, just more convoluted. Rather than counterfeiting dollars, they are rapidly printing USDT that the community, apparently on faith alone, believes are redeemable for $1 per Tether. Curiously Tethers have only been created, never destroyed, which would indicate that none have been redeemed back to USD. Many other (complicit) exchanges are also accepting these "tethered dollars" - the "USD" volume at exchanges like Bitfinex, Poloniex, Binance, Huobi, Bittrex, OkEX, etc is actually USDT based.
The endgame is the same as the simplified example with counterfeit dollars. The only thing keeping it going is the rising cryptocurrency price, which is keeping people hoarding coins instead of selling back to USD. This is also why the rate of tether issuance has been increasing - they need to keep the price high so people continue to hold. Eventually the selling pressure will increase (on the few exchanges that actually handle real USD), and as people attempt to convert their crypto holdings to real dollars the fraud will become readily apparent.
There will be huge distortions as the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum rockets on Bitfinex and other Tether exchanges as people try to get their money out, and simultaneously craters on GDAX & Gemeni as they try to get back in to fiat. In the end the massively decreased GDAX/Gemeni prices will be the only ones that matter since all faith will have been lost in the former tether-based exchanges.
If you're reading this, you have been warned.

Enjin Coin: On track to dominate the $100b+ gaming industry

Ticker code ENJ
Current market cap $191 million
Current coin supply 756,192,535
Comparables (competitors) Gamecredits, Crycash, GTCoin
Website https://enjincoin.io/
Whitepaper https://enjincoin.io/enjincoin_whitepaper.pdf

ENJ: Smart cryptocurrency for gaming
EJIN is the largest social gaming website platform in the world, boasting:

ENJ coin is an ERC-20 token and smart contract platform that gives game developers, content creators and gaming communities the required crypto-backed value and tools for implementing and managing virtual goods. Features include:

$100 billion dollar industry
In 2017 the global video game market was estimated to be worth over $108 billion dollars.
By 2020, the gaming indstury is expected to hit $128.5 billion dollars.
Most if not all gamers make in-game purchases for virtual items, such as cosmetics, abilities and perks. It is one of the largest sources of revenue for gaming companies. However, there are a multitude of issues with counterfeit items, delays in payment processing, and lost goods which players can’t recover or transfer.
ENJ seeks to solve this problem. ENJ harnesses the power of the Ethereum blockchain to connect video game communities through commerce. It changes the way we view virtual items by giving them intrinsic value and security, allowing us to truly consider them digital assets. Players can buy and sell virtual goods minted with ENJ instantly and the value of those goods can be transferred from player to player and from game to game with security and trust provided by Enjin’s network.
This year, Enjin’s gaming communities will begin to use the token for minting virtual goods and to make in-game purchases.

Enjin Smart Wallet
The Enjin wallet seeks to be the most streamlined cryptocurrency wallet aimed at gaming.
The Enjin Wallet streamlines the user experience further by integrating with games and websites that the user trusts. User accounts on each trusted platform will be synced to the user's Ethereum address.
This wallet is a working released product that supports BTC, ETH, ENJ, LTC and all ERC-20 tokens (600+), making it one of the most comprehensive wallets in the world.

Virtual goods store: create a store in minutes
Websites hosted on Enjin Platform can associate a specific wallet containing ENJ and Custom Coins to the website account. This would link any sellable assets to the Enjin Store module admin panel and these could be listed for sale in-game and on the website priced in ENJ, Custom Coins, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum or Fiat currency.
All of this points to a solid use-case for the ENJ coin.

Price analysis: top 30-40
On this basis, I would rank ENJ higher than most of the "hype" coins with no working product. If it is ranked around #35, this would give it a marketcap of approximately $900,000.
This represents a potential 400% gain, making it a very attractive coin at current prices.

Purchasing ENJ
ENJ is available on Binance | Cryptopia | Kucoin
Note that the Binance and Cryptopia links are my special invite codes. If you register with those, thank you - feel free to message me at any time if you have any questions or want further insight on ENJ or other coins.

Would love to hear everyone else's thoughts on this coin.

Blockchain Wednesday 29.08-05.09

In 2008 Satoshi Nakamoto came up with the concept for blockchain technology and it gained recognition with the introduction of Bitcoin. However, blockchain is not a new technology, it is a mix of three technologies that already existed:
1) The Internet
2) Private key cryptography
3) Peer-to-peer network adhering to a protocol
Thus, a blockchain is a list of records (known as ‘blocks’) which make up a virtual chain using cryptography. By using this technology it’s easy to distribute digital information in a way that cannot be tampered with. A blockchain offers a decentralized database, known as a digital ledger, of transactions that anyone with an internet connection can see.
Moreover, the information on blockchain is accessible across multiple locations and because the data is not stored in one location, it makes it hard for hackers to break into the system. Thus, blockchain is a secure way to share information and can benefit many industries.
For example, it can improve the way mental health problems are treated because data is stored in a single file format, making it easy for people to access and comprehend the data globally. Plus, the data can be easily accessed by clinics, hospitals, and insurance companies.
In fact, The People’s Insurance Company of China (PICC) has partnered with DNV GL and VeChain to transform the insurance industry through blockchain technology. Today, current policy underwriting processes for insurance companies use legacy claim management systems, which result in overwhelming paper trails on insufficiently validated data.
So PICC thinks that blockchain technology can bring about a digital revolution, which would lead to reduced turnaround time, lower premiums, fraud prevention, and the improvement of KYC compliance and claim experience.
Blockchain technology also has the power to improve the luxury goods market. When it comes to goods such as designer handbags, vintage wine and spirits, and luxury automobiles Forbes pointed out the difficulty associated with pinning down the exact price of these items.
Besides going to a professional appraiser or using some authentication system, there’s no way to be entirely sure about the valuation. Thus, blockchain technology could become the trusted, verifiable system in place to better track a particular item or brand’s life cycle, by pinpointing potential counterfeiting issues.
Furthermore, using blockchain technology would offer more transparent transactions and relationships between buyers and sellers.
So it’s no surprise the job market surrounding blockchain technology and cryptocurrency is booming.
When it comes to more traditional sectors in Asia blockchain and cryptocurrency jobs are increasingly attractive to those seeking careers in that area.
For example, Robert Walters the recruitment firm stated that they had seen a 50 percent increase in the number of roles related to blockchain or cryptocurrencies in Asia since 2017, with developers with Python language skills among the most highly sought after.
For instance, if you search for blockchain jobs on LinkedIn, you can find results for openings at big companies like IBM as well as positions at newer businesses, like the cryptocurrency exchange called Binance.
What’s more, as per data collected by job search engine. Indeed, the central Asian markets (Australia, India, Singapore and Malaysia), have seen high interest in blockchain roles.

(Information accurate as of May 23, 2018)

#1 – Bitcoin (BTC)

📷
The king of the crypto world, Bitcoin is now a household name; to many, it is synonymous with “cryptocurrency”. Its purpose is to provide a peer-to-peer electronic version of cash to allow payments to be sent online without the need for a third party (such as Mastercard).
The rapid rise in Bitcoin’s price has brought about an explosion of new Bitcoin investors. With the huge increase in interest has come a rise in merchants accepting Bitcoin as a legitimate form of payment. Bitcoin is fast moving towards its goal of becoming a currency accepted worldwide.
Bitcoin’s development is led by Bitcoin Core developer Wladimir J. van der Laan, who took over the role on April 8, 2014. Bitcoin’s changes are decided democratically by the community.
For an in-depth look at Bitcoin, including an explanation of Bitcoin mining, Bitcoin’s history, an analysis of Bitcoins’ value and a description on how bitcoin actually works, see our comprehensive guide “What is Bitcoin? Everything You Need to Know About Bitcoin, Explained“.
For a more detailed description of Bitcoin’s economics, what makes money and how Bitcoin works in the economy as a whole see: “Bitcoin Explained” and “Bitcoin is a Deflationary Currency”.

#2 – Ethereum (ETH)

📷
Ethereum is the revolutionary platform which brought the concept of “smart contracts” to the blockchain. First released to the world in July 2015 by then 21-year-old Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum has quickly risen from obscurity to cryptocurrency celebrity status.
Buterin has a full team of developers working behind him to further develop the Ethereum platform. For more background information on Buterin, read our article, “Vitalik Buterin: The Face of Blockchain”.
Ethereum has the ability to process transactions quickly and cheaply over the blockchain similar to Bitcoin, but also has the ability to run smart contracts. For future reading on smart contracts, see “What’s the Difference Between Bitcoin and Ethereum”; but for now, think automated processes which can do just about anything.
For further reading on Ethereum, including an analysis of the platform’s strengths and future prospects, read “What is Ethereum, Everything You Need to Know Explained“.

#3 – Ripple (XRP)

📷
Ripple aims to improve the speed of financial transactions, specifically international banking transactions.
Anyone who has ever sent money internationally knows that today it currently takes anywhere from 3-5 business days for a transaction to clear. It is faster to withdraw money, get on a plane, and fly it to your destination than it is to send it electronically! Not to mention you will be paying exorbitant transaction fees — usually somewhere around 6% but it can vary depending on the financial institution.
Ripple’s goal is to make these transactions fast (it only takes around 4 seconds for a transaction to clear) and cheap.
The Ripple team currently comprises over 150 people, making it one of the biggest in the cryptocurrency world. They are led by CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who has an impressive resume which includes high positions in other organizations such as Yahoo and Hightail.
Check out “What is Ripple” for more information, including a closer look at what they do, controversies and future prospects.

#4 – Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

📷
Bitcoin Cash was created on August 1, 2017 after a “hard fork” of the Bitcoin blockchain. For years, a debate has been raging in the Bitcoin community on whether to increase the block size in the hope of alleviating some of the network bottleneck which has plagued Bitcoin due to its increased popularity.
Because no agreement could be reached, the original Bitcoin blockchain was forked, leaving the Bitcoin chain untouched and in effect creating a new blockchain which would allow developers to modify some of Bitcoin’s original programmed features.
Generally speaking, the argument for Bitcoin Cash is that by allowing the block size to increase, more transactions can be processed in the same amount of time. Those opposed to Bitcoin Cash argue that increasing the block size will increase the storage and bandwidth requirement, and in effect will price out normal users. This could lead to increased centralization, the exact thing Bitcoin set out to avoid.
Bitcoin Cash does not have one single development team like Bitcoin. There are now multiple independent teams of developers.
Read “What is Bitcoin Cash” for more information. You can also check out their reddit and official webpage.

#5 – EOS (EOS)

📷
Billed as a potential “Ethereum Killer”, EOS proposes improvements that can challenge Ethereum as the dominant smart contract platform. One main issue EOS looks to improve is the scalability problems which has plagued the Ethereum network during times of high transaction volume, specifically during popular ICOs.
A perhaps more profound difference EOS has, compared to Ethereum, is the way in which you use the EOS network. With Ethereum, every time you make modifications or interact with the network, you need to pay a fee. With EOS, the creator of the DAPP (decentralized app) can foot the bill, while the user pays nothing. And if you think about it, this makes sense. Would you want to have to pay every time you post something on social media? No, of course not!
In addition to this, EOS has a few other technical advantages over Ethereum such as delegated proof of stake and other protocol changes. Just know that EOS has some serious power under the hood to back up the claim of “Ethereum Killer”.
EOS was created by Dan Larrimer who is no stranger to blockchain or start ups. He has been the driving force behind multiple successful projects in the past such as BitShares, Graphene and Steem.
For more information on EOS such as how and where to buy EOS tokens, EOS’s vision and potential challenges, see “What is EOS”.

#6 – Litecoin (LTC)

📷
Similar to Bitcoin, Litecoin is a peer-to-peer transaction platform designed to be used as a digital currency. Due to some notable technical improvements, Litecoin is able to handle more transactions at lower costs. Litecoin has been designed to process the small transactions we make daily.
Litecoin is sometimes referred to “digital silver” while Bitcoin is known as “digital gold”. This is because traditionally silver was used for small daily transactions while gold was used as a store of wealth and was not used in everyday life.
The Litecoin blockchain is a fork from the Bitcoin chain. It was initially launched in 2011 when its founder, Charlie Lee, was still working for Google. Well-known as a cryptocurrency expert, Charlie Lee is backed by a strong development team who appear to be achieving what they set out to do. They have recently achieved a very notable accomplishment with the first successful atomic swap.
For an in-depth discussion on what Litecoin does, how it is different than Bitcoin and the team backing up the development, see “What is Litecoin”.

#7 – Cardano (ADA)

📷
Cardano is a smart contract-focused blockchain. It was originally released under the name Input Output Hong Kong by Charles Hoskinson and Jeremy Wood, a few of the early team members of Ethereum, and later rebranded into Cardano.
Cardano is trying to fix some of the largest problems the cryptocurrency world which have been causing ongoing issues for years such as scalability issues and democratized voting.
They have the potential to challenge Ethereum’s dominance in the smart contract world. Cardano is developing their own programing language similar to Ethereum; however, they are focusing more heavily on being interoperable between other cryptocurrencies.
While some cryptocurrencies are all bite but no bark, Cardano is quite the opposite. They are quietly focusing on a strong software which will be completely open-source.
Cardano’s team comprises some of the best minds in the industry, and they seek to create a strong foundation which others can build upon for years to come.
For up-to-date information on Cardano’s status see their Reddit page or official website. You can also read our article “What is Cardano” to learn more about them.

#8 – Stellar Lumens (XLM)

📷
In a nutshell, Stellar Lumens seeks to use blockchain to make very fast international payments with small fees. The network can handle thousands of transactions a second with only a 3-5 second confirmation time.
As you may know, Bitcoin can sometimes take 10-15 minutes for a transaction to confirm, can only handle a few transactions a second and, in turn, has very high transaction fees.
If this sounds a lot like Ripple, you’re right! Stellar Lumens was based off of the Ripple protocol) and is attempting to do similar things. Some of Stellar Lumens’ main uses will be for making small daily payments (micropayments), sending money internationally, and mobile payments.
Stellar Lumens is focusing on the developing world and, more specifically, the multi-billion dollar industry of migrant workers who send money back to their family in impoverished countries.
The Stellar Lumens team is led by Jed McCaleb, who has worked in numerous successful startups in the past such as eDonkey, Overnet, Ripple, and the infamous Mt. Gox.
For more information on Stellar Lumens, including the history and what sets Stellar Lumens apart, see “What are Stellar Lumens”. You can also learn about the differences between Stellar Lumens and Ripple.

#9 – TRON (TRX)

📷
As stated in TRON’s whitepaper, “TRON is an attempt to heal the internet”. The TRON founders believe that the internet has deviated from its original intention of allowing people to freely create content and post as they please; instead, the internet has been taken over by huge corporations like Amazon, Google, Alibaba and others.
TRON is attempting to take the internet back from these companies by constructing a free content entertainment system. This will enable users to freely store, publish and own data, giving them the power to decide where and how to share.
The project is led by founder Justin Sun, who has been listed on the Forbes 30 under 30 list twice (in 2015 and 2017). In addition, Sun is a protégé of Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, China’s former Ripple representative and the founder of Peiwo APP.
Sun has assembled a strong team with heavy hitters including Binshen Tang (founder of Clash of King), Wei Dai (founder of ofo, the biggest shared bicycles provider in China), and Chaoyong Wang (founder of ChinaEquity Group). Sun has also secured the support of a few notable angel investors such as Xue Manzi.
For up-to-date information on Tron and further discussion of the technology and team, see “What is Tron” and their website.

#10 – IOTA (MIOTA)

📷
IOTA has seen many of the issues Bitcoin and Ethereum have with the POW (proof-of-work) and POI (proof-of-importance) models and looks to improve them with their revolutionary transaction validation network simply called “tangle”.
When issuing a transaction in IOTA, you validate 2 previous transactions. This means you no longer outsource validation to miners which requires wasteful amounts of computing power and usually a large stake of coins. These required resources are, in effect, centralizing the currencies which many believe were created to be decentralized in the first place.
With IOTA, the more active a ledger is, the more validation there is. In other words, the more people who use it, the faster it gets. You don’t have to subsidize miners, so there are no fees on transactions. That’s right: zero.
The IOTA team has been actively developing blockchain technology since 2011, and created the IOTA foundation and company in 2016. Since its emergence, the team has been continuously growing, attracting exceptional talent from around the world.
For more information on IOTA’s team and their revolutionary“tangle” technology, check out “What is IOTA”.

#11 – NEO (NEO)

📷
A leading platform for smart contracts and sometimes referred to as “China’s Ethereum”. NEO (formally Antshares) hopes to digitize many types of assets which were formerly kept in more traditional means, and therefore make it possible to use them in smart contracts.
To imagine a potential use case of NEO, think digitizing the title to a house into a smart asset, and then setting up that asset to automatically transfer to another person after payment for the house has been received. This would be, in effect, a simple smart contract.
NEO founder Da Hongfei is a leading figure in the cryptocurrency world and has worked on numerous blockchain projects in the past. The development team consists of 6 in-house investors and a large community of third-party developers.
For a complete overview of NEO, including the team, history and competitive analysis, check out “What is NEO”.

#12 – Dash (DASH)

📷
Dash (which comes from ‘digital cash’) aims to be the most user-friendly and scalable cryptocurrency in the world. It has the ability to send funds instantly confirmed by “double-send-proof” security with the added functionality of erasable transaction history and the ability to send transactions anonymously.
Like Bitcoin, Dash is meant to be used as a digital currency but has some added values such as much faster transaction times and lower fees. For a slightly higher fee, Dash has the added function of “instant send” which allows transactions to be confirmed almost instantly. This is one of the main selling points of Dash because many believe that this feature would allow it to be used in brick and mortar establishments.
The Dash development team consists of over 50 members and is led by former financial services professional Evan Duffield.
For the latest on Dash, see their official website and reddit page. You can also read “What is Dash” to learn more about the project.

#13 – Monero (XMR)

📷
Monero is a digital currency designed to be used as a completely anonymous payment system.
A common misconception with Bitcoin is that it is completely anonymous. In reality, all payments processed on the Bitcoin network are recorded on a public ledger (blockchain), so Bitcoin is actually only partially anonymous or “pseudonymous”.
This means that you can, in theory, trace back every transaction a coin has been involved with from its creation. Though users aren’t able to inherently link the public key on the blockchain with the private keys used to store the coins themselves, there will always exist a correlation between the two.
Monero has solved this problem by implementing cryptonic hashing of receiving addresses, therefore separating the coin from the address it is going to. This can be hugely valuable for anyone wishing to conceal their purchases.
The Monero development team consists of 7 core developers, only two of which are publicly known. There have been over 200 additional contributors to the project and software updates are implemented every six months or so.
To learn more about Monero including its competitors and challenges, read “What is Monero”. If you’re thinking about investing in Monero, check out our opinion piece “Should You Invest In Monero?“.

#14 – Tether (UDST)

📷
Tether is a cryptocurrency token issued on the Bitcoin blockchain. Each Tether coin is allegedly backed by one US Dollar. The goal is to facilitate transactions with a rate fixed to the USD.
Amongst other things, Tether looks to fix some of the legal issues which can arise when trading cryptocurrencies and it aims to protect people from market volatility.
Tether has faced controversy regarding their business model, and some consider it a scam. More info can be seen on reddit posts such as this.

#15 – NEM (XEM)

📷
NEM (New Economy Movement) is the world’s first proof-of-importance (POI) enterprise based on blockchain technology. With a focus on business use cases, the software was built from the ground up with adaptability in mind. NEM’s goal is for companies to use their “smart asset system” to implement customizable blockchains. A smart asset can be almost anything: a cryptocurrency token, a business’s stock or a company’s invoicing and records.
Some potential use cases for NEM’s technology include: voting, crowdfunding, stock ownership, keeping secure records, loyalty rewards point programs, mobile payments and escrow services. A list of NEM’s use cases can be found here.
The development of NEM is monitored by the Singapore-based NEM Foundation.
For more information on what NEM does and what sets NEM apart from its competitors, see “What is NEM”.

#16 – VeChain (VEN)

📷
As described in VeChain’s development plan, the organization’s purpose is to build “a trustfree and distributed business ecosystem based on the Blockchain technology self-circulated and expanding”.
They plan to do this by creating an efficient trustless business ecosystem to significantly reduce the wasteful information transfer systems of today.
Some of the areas and industries the VeChain platform is focusing on include eliminating counterfeiting in the fashion and luxury industry, food safety tracking systems, digitizing maintenance in the car industry and many other global supply chain processes.
For more information on VeChain, see their reddit and website. Read “What is Vechain” to learn about the project, and our investment opinion piece “5 Reasons to Invest in Vechain“.

#17 – Ethereum Classic (ETC)

📷
Ethereum Classic came about after a hard fork of Ethereum in 2016. The fork was a result of the infamous DOA hack where around 50 million dollars worth of Ethereum was stolen due to what was considered an oversight in the code.
The blockchain was forked in order to recoup the losses from this attack, but a small portion of the community did not wish to go back and change the original blockchain. Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, and subsequently the development team chose to go with the hard fork and work on what is now “Ethereum” today.
There is a lot of ongoing controversy with Ethereum Classic which can be better described on this reddit thread. For an in-depth discussion of Ethereum Classic, see”What is Ethereum Classic“.

#18 – Binance Coin (BNB)

📷
Binance Coin is the coin used to facilitate operations on the Binance platform, a cryptocurrency exchange that is capable of processing 1.4 million orders per second. The name “Binance” is derived from the combination of the terms “binary” and “finance”, referring to the integration of digital technology and finance.
The BNB coin is used to pay exchange fees, withdrawal fees, listing fees, and all other possible transaction expenses on the Binance platform. In order to incentivize new users to do their cryptocurrency trading on Binance, the team is offering discounts when BNB is used to pay fees. The discount will be 50% in the first year, 25% in the second, 12.5% in the third, and 6.25% in the fourth year before the discount ends.
Binance was primarily marketed to Chinese cryptocurrency investors at first, but they also have English, Korean, Japanese, French, Spanish, and Russian versions of the platform.
For a deeper look into Binance, you can read the whitepaper or check out the trading platform here.

#19 – Bytecoin (BCN)

📷
Bytecoin describes itself as “a private, decentralized cryptocurrency with with open source code that allows everyone to take part in the Bytecoin network development”. It is the first coin to offer untraceable payments, unlinkable transactions and resistance to blockchain analysis.
With Bytecoin, it is possible to send instant transactions anywhere around the world, which are totally untraceable and don’t require additional fees.
Bytecoin’s development is community-driven and a list of all of the different community websites can be found here.
For more information on Bytecoin, see: “What is Bytecoin“.

#20 – QTUM (QTUM)

📷
QTUM (pronounced Quantum) is an open-source value transfer platform which focuses on mobile decentralized apps or Dapps. QTUM is the world’s first proof-of-stake smart contracts platform.
QTUM is meant to be used as both a value transfer protocol, like Bitcoin, and a smart contract platform, like Ethereum. They have a number of technical innovations which some consider to make it superior to Ethereum, and they are focusing on mobile applications.
The platform itself is very new. It came about in March 2017, after a highly successful crowdfunding campaign raised them nearly 16 million dollars in only 5 days. QTUM has a small but strong development team and an impressive list of investors backing their ideas. QTUM’s development is lead by the Singapore based QTUM Foundation.
For further reading on the background of QTUM and what sets them apart, see “What is QTUM”.

#21 – Zcash (ZEC)

📷
ZCash is a value transfer protocol forked off of the Bitcoin blockchain. ZCash can be used like Bitcoin, with a few added improvements. With “zero cash technology”, ZCash shields both the amount transferred and the senders, making transactions truly anonymous.
ZCash is one of the new kids on the block in the world of “private transactions”.
An interesting note is that Ethereum is in the process of implementing some of ZCash’s technologies to enable transactions on the Ethereum network to be anonymous as well.
ZCash is being developed by the Zerocoin Electric Coin Company. They’ve had some great successes, most notably JP Morgan’s announcement that they would implement Zcash’s privacy technology to Quarum, a technology JP built on Ethereum.
Interested in investing in ZCash? Here’s the opinion of one of our writers: Should You Invest In ZCash?
ZCash was recently featured on the Radiolab episode The Ceremony.

#22 – OmiseGO (OMG)

📷
“Unbank the Banked” is the slogan of Omise’s online platform OmiseGo and that’s exactly what Omise has set out to do. Founded in 2013 off of the Ethereum blockchain, Omise aims to revolutionize the financial dynamics in Southeast Asia.
Omise is targeting individuals and businesses of all sizes by improving the current financial system which is slow, outdated, and inaccessible to most “everyday” people in these countries.
With their planned online exchange OmiseGO, Omise seeks to speed up the way money is spent and sent, both domestically and internationally in Southeast Asia and beyond.
They have a lot to celebrate too. OmiseGo has been building partnerships in the region and recently partnered with McDonald’s and Credit Saison.
Omise has established a strong team of over 130 staff members located in different countries. CEO and founder of Omise, Jun Hasegawa, has been involved in multiple startups and worked for Google for over 16 years.
The OmiseGO platform has been endorsed by some of the heavy hitters in the cryptocurrency world such as Vitalik Buterin and Gavin Wood, the co-founders of Ethereum.
For more information on what OmiseGO aims to do, see “What is OmiseGo”.

#23 – ICON (ICX)

📷
Fresh off a successful ICO, the Korea-based startup ICON is looking to provide a medium to connect all the different blockchains together. This puts ICON in the same field as Ark, which is attempting to accomplish similar goals.
The main concept of ICON is their idea of a “loopchain”. As stated in their whitepaper, a loopchain can be described as a “high-performance blockchain that can provide real-time transaction, which is based on enhanced Smart Contract.” Through ICON, participants will be able to connect to any blockchain without relying on the current centralized exchanges.
ICON has a relatively large team from various backgrounds. They have also secured the help of a few notable advisors such as Jason Best and Don Tapscott.
For more information on ICON and the work they’re doing, see “What is ICON“.

#24 – Lisk (LSK)

📷 Lisk is a decentralized network, like Bitcoin and Litecoin, which enables developers to deploy their own side chains off the main Lisk blockchain. These side chains are fully customizable blockchains which enable you to change the parameters you want to fit your own blockchain application.
This is similar to Ethereum and QTUM in some ways. With Lisk, the main difference is that the customizable blockchains split into their own separate side chains. This saves developers the grueling legwork of designing something from scratch. At the end of the day, side chains are only decentralized databases of blockchain applications.
Lisk is being developed by a small but quickly growing Berlin-based team. They are led by co-founders Max Kordek and Olivier Beddows who are veterans in the cryptocurrency and development world.
For a thorough look into Lisk including more on what Lisk does, its competitors, challenges and teams, see “What is Lisk”. You can also check out our case study of an accountant who invested all his life savings in Lisk: “Accountant Invests All in Lisk”.

#25 – Zilliqa – (ZIL)

📷
Zilliqa is a blockchain platform which focuses on solving the problem of scaling on public blockchains. With Zilliqa’s network, the number of transactions increases at a linear rate to the number of nodes.
This means that as nodes increase, so will its ability to handle high transaction volume. Zilliqa has already run a successful test on their network, where they were able to achieve 1,200 transactions per second with only 2,400 nodes.
Zilliqa also is the first blockchain to successfully integrate “sharding” into a public blockchain. This concept is extremely useful in improving the rate of scalability, bandwidth and performance in blockchains. Sharding, in effect, splits nodes into “shards” which can then conduct micro-transactions in each blockchain block.
In addition to this, Zilliqa claims to be more energy-efficient to mine. They also plan to implement dapps into their platform in the future.
For more information on Zilliqa, see their website and reddit. Our article “What is Zilliqa” can provide you with an overview of the project.

Am I scammed via Twitter with Wabi tokens?? If yes, please read and learn.

Some info about myself:
28 years old, from the Netherlands. Bachelor in Marketing, work at the airport. (Schiphol). 4 years ago bought 3 bitcoin and sold without profit. Since one week buying some cryptos. Ada, TRX and was planning to buy Wabi. (wrote a thesis why people buy counterfeit goods from Asia in the Netherlands) Since 3 days I have twitter. Writing this so you and other will not fall in the same trap.
Today, Sunday morning I checked my twitter. Apparently I was following a counterfeit account of Wabi. (How ironic). Did not know there where fake accounts on Twitter, fan accounts yes. The fake account tweeted about the airdrop of tokens for a limit of time, so you had to act fast. Well, what I coincidence I thought, as I was already plan to buy Wabi. This airdrop gift must be destiny.
To apply for the airdrop I clicked on a tiny URL in the tweet and it directed you to a wabicoin website. This website was exact similar to the official website. I thought so at that time. (Www.Wabicoin.in/blog/airdrop/
Also I double checked twitter on my laptop. Found differences in tweets compared to my smartphone, but that was due to sync and app difference I assumed. (I was in a hurry to leave for work)
Bought 1200$ worth Wabi tokens on binance. On the fake website I entered my amount of wabi tokens and the receive address of my myetherwallet. So I did NOT entered another code phrase - on the fake website - my tokens could be send to or something.
Then i pressed a button "calculate the free airdrop tokens ". As you can read I had to be logged in myetherwallet.com account at the same time. (Which I signed up to this morning for this purpose) Thenressed the "Wabi airdrop token"
All of a sudden all my Wabi tokens where GONE. Out of myetherwallet. Is this really true? Or can I get it back?
How the #€@π$ can me tokens be sent elsewhere if I only gave me RECEIVE address. There should be things going in to that address instead of going out. So sophisticated! Damn.
Is there something I can to do get my money back? I know banks in Europe, refund money to their customers if they are victim of fraud and scams. Can Wabi please do that as well?? Christmas time is coming and Wabi is doing great. Hooe Wabi can report the fake twitter account to twitter and do something against the fake website. I can prove every thing. What else should I do more? Delete cookies etc?
I reported the fake twitter account. Donations of other people are also welcome. When I got from work I will upload screenshots here which I have on my laptop of the distributions of tokens in the Eth network.
Thanks for reading and hope you learned something.
The fake twitter account is: @WaBilCO where the L looks like that capital i of ICO.

Today’s review: VeChain
The History of VeChain
The Project was launched on 19 August 2017. The non-profit organization VeChain Foundation dealt with the development and management of the project.
Unlike its competitors, VeChain’s team had more experience in using blockade as a technology. For many years the company developing in many industries, which allowed it to take the leading place in the world market.
The main activity of VeChain is logistics and quality assurance. The emphasis is on food and luxury goods. Each stage of creation and logistics of the goods is entered in the blockchain which protects against any changes in the data. The changes are available for public inspection, which makes it easy to coordinate the actions of the company's units, simplifies the external control of institutional organizations and allows consumers to access the history of the facility.
Thanks to the cooperation of different companies, they were able to create ready-made solutions for integration into a number of areas:
  • Logistics;
  • AIC;
  • Food industry and pharmacology;
  • Luxuries;
  • Public services.
VeChain products consist of two parts. Intelligence chips (NFC, RFID), or QR codes that allow you to identify objects. Blockchain-as-a-Service consolidates all information into a single network, which provides online access, analysis, data control. When they interact, an Internet of things (IoT) is created, which benefits both producers and consumers. In addition to tracking the movement, symbiosis with IoT allows to optimize the quantitative and qualitative indicators in the process of growing and producing food products, as well as to simplify the work of state control bodies.
While VeChain has implemented several new protocols to improve smart contracts, their main goal is to avoid specialization in logistics and create a universal network with a wide range of tools for developing decentralized applications. After switching to its own platform, it is planned to exchange the current VEN tokens to new VETs and add an additional internal resource (THOR) to work inside the network. It will gradually accumulate from the owners of the tokens by analogy with GAS in NEO. Changes will also affect the principle of consensus: a transition to PoS is planned. In addition, a separate purse will be offered.

Management of the project is carried out by Sunny Lu. Previously, he was a co-founder of the Chinese Internet company BitSe, which created the cryptocurrency giant Qtum. Prior to that, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer and CIO of the Chinese representation of Louis Vuitton. The VeChain cryptocurrency project has one of the largest teams of about 60 people.
Advantages and disadvantages
The project intends to take the leading position in the cryptocurrency market and makes a lot of efforts to achieve this goal. The community unambiguously assesses VeChain's focus on moving into a new segment and competing with Ethereum, Cardano, and NEO. The project has a number of obvious advantages:
  • An experienced team of developers, consisting of more than 60 reputable experts;
  • 111 existing network nodes in five countries;
  • Cooperation with major well-known companies (Renault Group, Microsoft, BMW, BABYGHOST, DiG, PwC);
  • A clear development plan that is being successfully implemented;
  • Scalability of the network, which ensures stable operation in any area of the real economy;
  • The regular growth of attention of investors, business;
  • Positive market dynamics;
  • Further diversification of the services is planned.
There are also disadvantages. Some believe that the project too quickly "inflates" its own scale. This can negatively affect both the quality of services and strategic success. In the narrow segment of logistics on the basis of the block, the project has only one competitor and in the sphere of basic platforms for creating smart contracts and decentralized applications, there is very strong competition and promising participants who regularly improve their work. In addition, the consequences of migration from the block air of the etherium, new opportunities for consensus, additional internal resources are still not known exactly. Initially, there may be technical problems in the stability of the system.
Further prospects
VeChain Thor positions itself as the leading platform based on blockbuster technology for the corporate sector. Such ambitions have recently been confirmed by the conclusion of deals with new partners. After the Cryptocurrency was added to the portfolio of international consulting company PwC, its position on the market has significantly strengthened, the position in the rating is gradually improving. Recently BMW joined the list of partners, which led to a new growth of the course. The Chinese government also cooperates with the project in several directions at once (quality control of products, purchases, a creation of a smart city). After creating a strong team and attracting the giants of the world market, the project may well be considered one of the most promising for today. VeChain Thor helps in the fight against counterfeit currency, and this is a very promising idea. According to CNN, the turnover of this shadow sector reaches $ 450 billion a year, so large producers are very interested in returning their market share.
Conclusion
The project has good potential and takes the leading place on the coinmarketcap. The capitalization of the virtual currency in 2017-2018 increased from $ 57 million to $ 2 billion, and at the peak amounted to $ 3.3 billion. This indicates a great confidence of users in the platform and its development.
